Maha Shivratri festival is around the corner, and people are preparing to celebrate one of the most auspicious festivals of the Hindus, is dedicated to worshipping Lord Shiva.

On this auspicious day, people must think of observing fast, offering prayers to Lord Shiva, and seeking the blessing of the Lord. There are several dos and don'ts of fasting rules. Take a look at some of them:

Satvik And Vrat-Friendly Food 

During the fast, devotees must stick to satvik and vrat-friendly foods like fruits, milk, milk products, and root vegetables while avoiding prohibited foods like grains and legumes.  

Consume All Food Groups  

Keep yourself hydrated and try to consume all food groups necessary for a balanced diet to keep yourself energised.  

Do Not Consume Whatever Is Applied To Lord Shiva

It is advised not to consume anything that you have offered to Lord Shiva as it's believed to bring bad luck.  

Do Not Overboard On Tea And Coffee  

While fasting, do not go overboard on tea and coffee, as it can cause dehydration.  

Skip Fried Food 

Instead of deep-fried food, indulge in fibre-rich foods that aid digestion and keep you full for longer.  

Consume Curd  

Make sure to consume probiotics such as curd, as it can keep your gut healthy.  

Indulge In Nuts  

Dry fruits, nuts, and seeds must be consumed as a snack to keep energy levels hi gh.
